 In 1990,
Cede was involve in
Nature Tourism promoting the natural history of Sabah, particularly
the Kinabatangan Wildlife Reserve and based there for 6 years as Tour
Manager and Lodge Operations Manager.
In September 1998 - September 2001, he coordinated an 8 members team on a
project called Partners for Wetlands, initiated by WWF. The project
was committed to actively seizing opportunities for wetland
management, conservation and restoration of the Lower Kinabatangan
floodplains.
 Developing model projects with the stakeholders with the various
Government agencies, Oil palm sector, the Tour operators and the local
community around the Kinabatangan floodplains.
In Kinabatangan, viewing the Wildlife and the rich biodiversity was a
major attraction. In 1990 he was involve in setting up the first
tourist lodge at Sukau village, Kinabatangan. Conducted specialised
tours to Zoological groups (USA and UK), Birdwatching groups, Natural
History Film-makers (NHK, National Geographic, BBC, Discovery Channel
etc.), |
Participated in Wildlife
surveys around Danum Valley Field Centre and Tabin Wildlife Reserve in
Lahad Datu and the Kinabatangan region. While working in the
surrounding rainforest areas the opportunity for wildlife photography
was great and this provided him with interesting moments and memorable
experiences. Photography then developed into serious hobby and
currently he have various collection of nature images of Borneo. Many
of the photographs appeared in natural history books, Malaysian and
International tourism promotional materials and magazine.
 In May 2000, performed a Wildlife Photographic Exhibition in
collaboration with WWF Netherlands at Naturalis Museum, Netherlands.
The objective is to raise awareness and raise funds for the
conservation project in Kinabatangan floodplains.
Travelled extensively around Asian region particularly in Nepal,
Japan, Australia and the South East Asia. In year 2000, conducted
study trip and meeting in the Wetland Region in Danube Delta, Ukraine
and The Netherlands.
