Fish & Chips Ahoy!

 

Warisan Square, the latest and trendiest shopping locality in the city, welcomes another new outlet in May 2007. The street mall concept of the area is the perfect complement to this outlet’s relaxed yet stylishly decked out marine inspired décor. Established in Singapore in 1998, Fish & Co. has gained immense popularity internationally, winning customers worldwide with its irresistible blend of quality ingredients, innovative recipes and well-loved flavours.

Taking its cue from the traditional way fishermen in the Mediterranean would cook their meal in a single pan and share among the crew while out fishing, Fish & Co. has made dining with them a family-oriented and friendship bonding experience. And what better way to do that than over a scrumptious and all-too-tempting pan of grilled seafood, mussels in a creamy garlic and butter sauce, or their classic fish and chips. It is no exaggeration when they say Fish & Co. has the best fish and chips in town because they do! They use only the freshest and thickest slabs of dory coated in the special house recipe batter, deep-fried to an enticing golden crisp and served with homemade paprika-sprinkled chips – and we’re talking real chips here! Only the best vegetable oil is used – and not reused! – which brings out all the natural flavours of this very simple dish.

Where possible Fish & Co. would source their seafood locally but for some of their recipes, the ingredients are flown in to maintain the high standard of quality, freshness and taste. Their recipes are designed specifically to retain as much of the seafood flavours as possible and not to be over-powered by a profusion of enhanced flavourings.

Mocktails, fruit juices and ice-blended concoctions served here are great thirst quenchers and comes in a variety of tropical flavours. And for that perfect ending to a perfect meal, the Hot Fudge Chocolate Cake served with a large scoop of “cookies n crème” ice cream comes highly recommended.

Perhaps the best part of the whole dining experience at Fish & Co. is the price. The meals are very reasonably priced despite the impression their flashy bright blue laminated huge menu seems to give. With a seating capacity of 100 people and a staff who will drop everything they’re doing and give you a hyped-up, toe-tapping, hand-clapping rendition of “Happy Birthday” (if it’s your birthday!), Fish & Co. is set to be the favourite choice for a big night out with friends or family.

Need to know To date, Fish & Co. has 13 restaurants in Singapore, 4 in Malaysia, as well as 9 other franchise outlets in countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Dubai in the Middle Eat and Hong Kong, and has approximately one outlet opening every two months.
